What is the Food Lion Customer Panel?

The Food Lion Customer Panel consists of volunteer members who are e-mailed periodically and asked to participate in opinion polls and surveys related to Food Lion or other Food Lion, LLC Supermarkets (Bloom, Bottom Dollar, Harveys, Reid's). As a token of our appreciation for their time, panel members win our eternal gratitude – plus a chance to win cash prizes and gift cards.

How do I become a member of the Food Lion Customer Panel?

If you would like to join, please complete the brief sign-up survey located on the Food Lion Customer Panel website.  As part of this survey, you will be asked to enter your MVP card number, so you may want to have that ready before you begin. Please note that you must be a U.S. resident age 18 or older in order to join. Once you’ve completed the sign-up questionnaire, you’re a member!

Is there a fee to join or participate in surveys?

Your membership in our Food Lion Customer Panel is free!  There will never be a cost to you to participate in our Panel or any of our surveys.

How much of my time will be required?

We will contact you periodically via e-mail with invitations to participate in a variety of studies. Although we appreciate your thoughts and opinions and hope you will choose to contribute to our research, you will always have the option to accept or decline our invitation to participate.  You are under no obligation to complete every survey you receive.

How do I complete the surveys?

When we have a survey available that may be of interest to you, you will receive an email invitation to take part in the survey.  Included in your invitation will be a link to the survey website; simply click on or copy and paste the link into your web browser to complete the survey.

The comments you share and the feedback you give will be used for market research purposes only. Digital Research, Inc. is a member of the Council of American Research Organizations (CASRO) and strictly adheres to its Code of Standards and Ethics and policies regarding respondent confidentiality. Will I receive junk mail or sales calls as a result of being a member?

Absolutely not.  Any information collected by the Food Lion Customer Panel/Digital Research, Inc. is used exclusively to support our research efforts.  We will never sell, lend, or otherwise make available to any outside entity any personally identifiable information you provide.  Although all of us receive junk mail, you can be assured it will not be as a result of your participation in the Food Lion Customer Panel.

How does the sweepstakes work?

All of our surveys involve participation incentives.  Each survey invitation you receive will provide a direct link to the sweepstakes rules for that survey.  To view them, simply click on or copy and paste the link provided in your survey invitation. Surveys and sweepstakes typically have a participation deadline, so be sure to complete our surveys before the entry deadline listed in the rules to qualify.

What is My Panel ID Number? What if I forget it?

Your Panel ID number helps us keep track of which surveys you completed. Each time we contact you, your Panel ID number will be provided to you in our survey invitation, so there’s no need for you to try and remember it.

When and how often will I be asked to participate in a survey? Why haven't I been asked recently?

We make every attempt to keep our Panel Members active. However, many times, our studies apply to specific household profiles. We also rotate our Panel Member list on a regular basis to afford all members an equal chance to participate.  This means you may have to wait to hear from us. Remember, we can only include you in our studies if we can reach you via e-mail -- so please let us know if your e-mail address or other contact information has changed by visiting Edit My Profile.

What if I have difficulty accessing the Web site address where a survey resides?

If you discover that the link we have provided you does not work, please first make sure that the address was entered properly in your browser. Some AOL users may have to copy and paste the address directly into the AOL browser before the page will load. Also, please be sure to click “Go” or press “enter” after entering a website address.  Our surveys are designed for our panelists only, and can not be located by a search engine.  If you continue to have difficulty and are unable to view the survey site, please send us an
e-mail to let us know. Please include specifics such as the name of the study and the nature of your problem. We will respond to you as quickly as possible.

How do I remove my name from the Panel?

If you no longer wish to be part of our Food Lion Customer Panel, simply visit the Remove page of the Food Lion Customer Panel web site to submit your request. Our panelists' happiness is important to us, so we ask you to please take a moment to tell us why you are resigning from the Panel. Your feedback will help us make adjustments to our Food Lion Panel program. After you submit your request, you are no longer an active member of the panel and you will not be contacted again.

I am under 18 years of age. How can I join?

In order to comply with online research guidelines established by the Children's Research Unit of the Council of American Better Business Bureaus, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and our own professional business standards, we currently do not accept panel members under the age of 18.
